Lesson 10 Future?

Section A

What’s Next

Key Objective:  To view the world from God’s perspective.

Satan has fought against God since the day he rebelled.  You are now in this battle for the souls of men and women all over the world.  We may see this battle end very soon.

2 Timothy 2:3
You are a soldier in a war.  This is a spiritual war.
See also 1 Timothy 6:12.

The Enemy

Ephesians 6:12
This verse identifies Satan’s organized army:

“Not against flesh and blood” - means that our warfare is not against people.
“Principalities” - these are Satan’s front line evil spirits. – Colossians 2:15

“Powers”- these are Satan’s evil spirits which have delegated authority.
“Rulers of the darkness of this world”- these are the evil spirits ruling parts of the world under Satan.

“Spiritual wickedness in high places” - this is the religious system Satan has for worship of himself.

1 Peter 5:8-10
“Sober” means to be aware of the enemy. “Vigilant” means to be active with cautious attention.  “Adversary” means your enemy.  “Devour” means to destroy or to make to disappear.

James 4:7
Submit yourselves to God and the devil will flee from you.

1 John 3:8
The enemy is already defeated.  Notice Hebrews 2:14.

1 John 2:14
What makes you spiritually strong?  The answer is found in John 15:7.

Notice that Jesus’ description about the Church in Matthew 16:18 implies that we are advancing forward.

You will have difficulty sometimes as a Christian because you are in a spiritual war.
